BigTmusic.com was fortunate enough to catch up with the strings specialist, Dvwn, where she was able to shed some light on her up-and-coming future projects.  Dvwn has performed with Grammy winners Common, Herbie Hancock, The Clark Sisters, Aretha Franklin, Wynton Marsalis, Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def), Janelle Monae, and many more industry heavy weights!  Her sound can be heard on albums produced by Kanye West, Daniel Moore II, James McKinney, and countless other super producers.  Most recently, she collaborated with music directors to the stars, Michael Bearden and Ray Chew!

Dvwn, whose real name is Dawn, was most recently named as the recipient of the 31st Annual Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Performing Arts Teaching in Washington, D.C., and is a graduate of the world-renowned The Juilliard School in New York City where she was recognized by her alma mater for her “Outstanding Achievement and Leadership in Music” as a recipient of the Jerome L. Greene Fellowship, the Irene Diamond Scholarship, and the Peter Mennin Award in Music. Her skill, passion, and performances all over the world have landed her as one of the most sought-after musicians in the industry today.  Below is the full length interview from the strings specialist herself, Dvwn, featuring hip hop artist, Fried Johnson, as a special guest!
