Social media has been a buzz since Chance the Rapper dropped his freestyle on Monica’s 2003 hit “So Gone” instrumental. From there the hashtag #SoGoneChallenge has gone viral with many hot verses being dropped. Here are a few of the ones that we’ve seen and liked from YouTube and Instagram.

10. Damian Lillard #SoGoneChallenge
Why: Dude can spit with rhythm and displays he actually has a vocab. He is not only an NBA superstar, but a budding rapper.
9. Rex Racer #SoGoneChallenge
Why: Rex came with a nice theme to start the verse off (the count up), and he also had Army visuals to go with it. Creativity on the verse went on long way with this one!
8. Kingdom Muzic #SoGoneChallenge
Why: Dude sounds a bit like Pac but on a spiritual vibe. It’s refreshing to hear an artist that can actually rap that is not rapping about the same thing everyone else is.
7. Andy Mineo #SoGoneChallenge
Why: He took his time with this one. Great references with a dope switch up at the end.
6. HoodBoundTV#SoGoneChallenge
Why: Raw! Punchlines and metaphors….need we say more!
5. Jay Buck aka Buckalini#SoGoneChallenge
Why: This man is underrated. Had that one line that had us hooked… “Callin’ out your insecurities, that really didn’t help. You my mirror, if I’m talkin’ about you then I’m talkin’ about myself.”

4. Mario Knowles #SoGoneChallenge
Why: Great story telling. Kept us captivated, and it came off as a true freestyle.
3. Jack J #SoGoneChallenge
Why: We weren’t expecting this to be this good. Dude had some dope metaphors. “You pretty much the only reason why I check my phone. Yet the first day we clicked like metronomes.”
2. Ar’mon And Trey #SoGoneChallenge
Why: Creative. These guys did a duet singing going back and forth. This wasn’t something expected and they sounded really good in the process.

Why: One word…effortless. Every bar was hard from a lyrical standpoint, and it was spit with the ease of someone who’s been rapping for a while…veteran.
